Review of The Woman (2011) by Alan W — 25 Jun 2012
The Women starts out with a interesting, intriguing premise that just hooks you to the film. That being said it keeps you interested throughout the film, but at times I felt the film a bit slow; however, it picks up and with that shocking disturbing ending, I had to give it a 8.
Performance was flawless, I mean Angela Bettis did a outstanding performance to bad she didn't get the happy ending she wanted. Pollyanna Mclntosh interpretation of a wild women was excellent even though she didn't talk much, but her gesture was coherent, and believable. Sean Bridgers made a believable satan has a handsome face take, even though I hated his script, but it was part of the film.
Gore, yes people we get a hole lot of in your face disturbing shocking gore, so I know those gore-hounds out there would be pleased with The Women. And the gore felt so realistic that I even almost puke; which, is rare in these type of films.
Overall the pace was great and even though it takes a while to get where it wants to get, but this take on Women empowerment was refreshingly astonishing yet shocking.
