Review of The Wolf of Wall Street (2013) by Owen G — 09 May 2015
The Wolf of Wall Street is both a biographical tale and a comedy rolled into one film. Directed and Produced by Martin Scorsese The Wolf of Wall Street tells the story of Jordan Belfort who made his highly successful career as a criminalistics stock broker and businessman until the law comes crashing down on him.
Scorsese demonstrates the ridiculous antics of Belfort in a graphic and extremely detailed way that is both over the top and entertaining to watch. This film is a must see due to the interesting was Belfort is demontrated as an "antihero".
No matter how much you want the protagonist to win, you know he is a bad person. This antihero status played by DiCaprio makes the film extremely interesting no matter how it ends. DiCaprio plays the role perfectly aided by the outrageous Jonah Hill this film is both hilarious and quite dark at the same time.
