Review of The Wolf Man (1941) by Nelson P — 29 May 2010
Definitely my favorite of the universal monster movies but in no way the best one made. Why it loses to Frankenstein is because it's not that dark of a film to be considered a horror movie. It's more of a murder mystery disguised as a werewolf movie.
The strongest part of this movie was Lon Chaney Jr, his performance made the werewolf scenes an unexciting part of this movie.
