The Wind that Shakes the Barley is a mirror to all of the wars in history, exemplifying the Irish War of Independence and Civil War. We can see the dehumanization or more likely the humanization of the people, because now I can see that humans throughout history have thirst for war.
So this is how humans behave, they like killing other humans in the name of religion, their parties or in this case, in the name of their country.
