Review of The Wind Rises (2013) by Sharp — 13 Jan 2019
This is Miyazaki's masterpiece in many ways. It touches the heights of Porco Rosso (both literally and in quality) and has a lot in common thematically with Grave of the Fireflies. The romance is well described, and the added fantasy to Horikoshi-sama's life are a welcome and interesting sight.
I actually thought The Wind Rises was Miyazaki's top three movies. Critics didn't praise this enough.
