Review of The Wild Bunch (1969) by Srinivas V — 28 Mar 2009
Aah!
"Bloody Sam" at the peak of his awesome powers.Misogynistic, raw, gritty, cold blooded and brutal are things which immediately spring to mind.
But the highlight of the film is defly the climax.Featuring the notorious "ballet of death" that Peckinpah is known for,the climatic scenes are some of the very best that celluloid has had to offer.Sublimely tough and whiskey soaked, this is "pure" cinema.
5 Stars!
