Review of The Wild Bunch (1969) by King C — 09 Dec 2009

This should be required viewing if you are a man. This is the greatest western ever made, and features one of the best, if not the best gunfight ever put on screen. Few can create a bullet ballet quiete like Sam Peckinpah, and the finale to this movie is one of the biggest blood orgies in cinematic history.

Even after 40 years, the climactic showdown at the end of this picture is an incredibly exilirating experience that only a very select few movies can come close to in terms of excitement. Peckinpah was great at making manly man movies, and this is probably his most manly just because of how badass it is and it's a great story of men bonded together through friendship and experience, as well as about aging and how if one does not age with the world around them, then the world will eventually pass them by and there will be no place for them.
