Review of The Wife (2017) by Gavin B — 03 Aug 2018
Story telling gone wrong. How can two people live together in a symbiosis of deceit and behave toward each other as if nothing happened. For the purpose of not telling us that in fact Joan is more than the wife the characters behave in an unbelievable manner. Don't you think they hadn't faced this need to deceive others on many occasions previously as fame grew.
Of course we are outraged that someone hides their ability behind another. But having done so for 40 years, why does the dam burst?
Despite there being redeeming moment such as the ditching the Nobel prize and Joe claiming his contribution being the care of the kids and cooking, it's not for me.
