Review of The Wicker Man (2006) by Will R — 30 Sep 2009
I've seen some piss poor remakes in my time but this may end up being not only the most piss poor remake but the most piss poor movie period. Cage is so miscast that it beggers belief that he didn't catch on and walk away from this mess.
That said he did make me smile with the following, when he aims his gun at the sister and tells her to move away from the bike, it reminded me of his put the bunneh back in the box line from Con Air. He also gotta chuckle with his beatdowns of the chicks and his cry of "Bitches" lol.
The movie is truly abysmal, Conroy seems to be playing Ruth Fisher, Sobieski is as wooden as ever, and Burstyn is wasted. Nice homage to Edward Woodward tho by having Cage's character called Edward and his kids surname Woodward.
Terrible stuff!
