Review of The Wicker Man (2006) by Jonathan C — 27 Jul 2011
What a Beautifully crafted gem this film is. The script is enough to make Tarantino weep with envy. Nicolas Cage delivers each line with pure sincerity and at times I felt like I was there with him during his plight, quotes such as "This is murder! Murder! You'll all be guilty, and you're doing it for nothing! Killing me won't bring back your goddamn honey" and "OH, NO! NOT THE BEES! NOT THE BEES! AAAAAHHHHH! OH, THEY'RE IN MY EYES! MY EYES! AAAAHHHHH! AAAAAGGHHH!" made me shudder in overwhelming terror.
Lets not forget the intense action scenes! When he hijacks a bycicle from a women "Step a way from the bike" he says with an intonation even I found intimidating. This is a must have, buy it and explore the captivating world of some little island full of bees and pagan feminists and the best actor in the world!
