Review of The Wicker Man (1973) by Paul J — 27 Nov 2008
When a young girl is reported missing, a Christian police sergeant flies out to a remote Scottish island to investigate, only to discover an unnervingly strange and cultish community, the members of which startle and irritate him with their inhumane mannerisms and vague responses to his interrogations.
Crammed with smart references and unforgettable scenes, 'The Wicker Man' is a fantastic 70's daylight horror classic, for which I have every reason to believe there was no need for a remake.
