Timless - perhaps one of the best "classic" love movies I've ever seen; "The Way we Were" captures the struggle between two people to love and respect one another's differences - politically and emotionally.
This movie encapsulates some extraordinary one-liners - my favorites: "You expect SO much, Katie." - "Ah, but look what I've got." Alas, the ending; it doesn't seem to matter how many times I've seen this film, the bittersweet moment always tugs at the heart strings and remains true to life.
