Review of The Way We Were (1973) by Jens T — 25 Feb 2011
One of my "never cared to see it before, but why not" library loans. I recognized the title song from somewhere and then there is a scene mentioned in Gilmore Girls by Lorelai when Luke breaks up with her.
It's an okay movie. I admired Katie's political passion, her dedication to bringing issues to attention. She and Hubble (*where* did they get that name?) are nice together at times. I watched a bit of the looking-back feature and they spoke of him as spine-less. I didn't notice that while watching. What I noticed was his desire to keep doing things the easy way as they came to him. Perhaps she could have eased up a bit, still passionate but less argumentative and not driven him away. Perhaps not.
Not a bad "classic".
