Adam Sandler plays a loathsome manbaby whose entire personality is a "funny" voice. If that sounds like most of Sandler's comedy then you already know what you're in for. This slice of lazily written lowbrow garbage centers on a waterboy who inadvertently becomes a star player for a struggling college football team.
Like most of Sandler's worn-out schtick, the gags in The Waterboy are cheap, predictable, rusty, tiresome, and painfully unfunny.
