Review of The Waterboy (1998) by Drlowdon — 27 Jun 2021
Bobby Boucher, whose life is constantly run by his overbearing mother, works as a ‘waterboy’ for his local football team. When he loses his job, he takes up a similar position for a local college team until his previously unknown tackling skills are accidentally discovered.
I think most would agree that Sandler’s output over the last 10-15 years has been almost uniformly awful, but back in the 90’s he did make some funny movies, and this is one of the better ones. Of course, if you don’t like his style of comedy you won’t like what you see here, but for those that are fans there are a good number of laughs to be had.
