The problem with the Water Diviner is that it tries to do too much, although many elements of a great film are here. There are at least 4 stories here, any of which could have stood alone as a memorable tale.
Great acting and cinematography can't save this one. It tries very hard to be an epic movie - so hard it becomes obvious and awkward. Worth a look if you don't expect too much.
