Review of The Warriors (1979) by Matthew H — 11 Mar 2011
In The Warriors, a small group of street fighters are put up against cops, and rival gangs, as they knuckle their way through New York to get to there home turf on Coney Island. The action in this movie is nonstop.
The fight scenes are great. I thought the part where they fight the Baseball Furies in the park scene was the best of all. The acting is really good. Walter Hill picked one of the best plots I've ever heard of.
The script is very quotable. The music is great, and the fact that a lot of the time it's just all action and no talking is a nice touch that's worth appreciating. I have to say this might be my favorite film of all time, one that can't possibly be overhyped.
