Review of The Warriors (1979) by Andrew D — 01 Nov 2010
One of the most overrated films of the '70s. It could've been cool but it's dated and laughably ridiculous. The acting is horrible and the story is paper thin and full of holes. If all the endless scenes of characters walking down tunnels and through streets, this would only be seven and a half minutes long.
Clearly they had to pad it out to just barely get to the 90 minute mark. There's an interesting scene that takes place with a girl gang, and it's fairly well-shot, but this is a decent premise that was wasted.
The only people that should love it are the ones that saw it when they were kids.
