Review of The Walk (2015) by Paul O — 14 Feb 2016
(I Walk) The Line is a very well made movie. I was expecting a good movie and got more. Joseph Gordon Levitt should have been nominated for Academy award. His acting and narration were "spot on.".
Those who wrote reviews on Redbox and said things like boring, or too slow should not be watching movies shouldn't annoy us your one sentence reviews. Turn your WWE cagematches back on and shut up already.
The set up and development of characters and plot were necessary and well written and directed.
Charlotte Le Bon was a great supporting actress and the other supporting characters were cast and played their parts well. The French accent and language was really great and most believable. Paris and New York felt right. There was enough humor to make it not so dramatic and romance enough. to make it equally appealing for both sexes.
The scenes on the rooftop(s) of the twin towers were awe inspiring. I am afraid of heights and I kept clutching pillows and alike nearby to keep from falling. It was hard to watch. I wanted them to be over long before they were. It is so great that CGI makes everything seem so real like they were actually filming from atop of those magnificent buildings. Unfortunately we know it could not have been.
When I see a true story that is that gratifying when put on the screen it makes me appreciate what really happened. The artiste that Philippe Petit was and the artist that Joseph Gordon Levitt is...blended well into a must see movie.
Growing up I saw a lot of good movies that were done as well as this one and it pleases me to know there are filmakers like Robert Zemeckis who still produce the same great movies.
Ben Kingsly is one of my favorite actors, but in this movie he was on par with a lot of the no names that were in it.
They could have spent more time on his scenes with Levity...it would have elevated an already superb movie.
If you like art and you like good movies rent this one. If you are looking to bash something rent another.
