Review of The Pride of the Yankees (1942) by Andrew P — 07 Dec 2009
Lou Gehrig is a personal hero of mine, and frankly, I was bored by this movie. His portrayal was bland, and the characters, especially his parents, just hokey. It actually borders on crediting George Washington for admitting to chopping down a cherry tree, or Abe Lincoln walking back to return a penny.
He was a real man, and deserved a real portrayal.
