Review of The Wages of Fear (1953) by Scott R — 15 Jan 2018
THE WAGES OF FEAR is one of the greatest movies ever made. It is an extraordinary experience- one that I will not soon forget. I have seen few (if any) films this this entertaining, exciting and suspenseful- I was on the edge of my seat, completely spellbound throughout- particularly the entire second half of this film.
The second half of this film is 90 minutes of some of the best filmmaking ever made. It made me bite my fingernails to the point of actual pain. The film is not just about this insanely desperate journey, but also about living in desperation, questioning themselves and their meaning of existence that culminates into this extremely dangerous mission.
These characters are very real. I loved this movie, it's a masterpiece.
