I guess I don't see the whole James Cagney appreciation thing? Maybe because there have been so many "deep" villians since the 1940's when Cagney did his thing.
I watched this film for its 100% RT rating and saw nothing but normal cops'n'robbers stuff. I could jump on the band wagon and say "wow," what a great film; unfortunately, that's not what I got out of it.
I didn't see much directorial artistry or acting that was supposed to blow me away. Should I feel guilty?
