Review of The Wackness (2008) by Keven S — 12 Nov 2009
This has hidden gem all over it. It's one of those movies that grabs you with it's story and unexpected performances - especially with Ben Kingsley who can choose some hit or miss movies from time to time.
Josh Peck who plays our drug dealing lead does a solid job but really he's just playing a very stoned kind of dbaggish punkass. Kingsley steals the show - and my god - aside from one of the most awkward scenes of all time dealing with Kingsley and one of the Olsen twins.
...Wackness is a pretty good time. It's a great 90's period piece - the hip hop music of the time adds to the film in a great way and aside from some aimless story near the end, Wackness still managed to keep my attention which is a testament to the actors who manage to keep the scenes fresh.
