Review of The Visit (2015) by Wadewilliams — 12 Sep 2015
Addendum: Sixth Sense had (for unsuspecting moviegoers like me) the revelation that B Willis had been dead all this time. powerful, neck-hair-raising gotcha. The Visit's revelation comes when grandboy sends an online view of granpappy and granmammy to his mother and mommy hits us with "the revelation".
This one fell flat. Coulda / Shoulda saved the revelation til the very end, with mommy holding her **** covered son in her arms, as the police point their guns at knife-wielding granparents who come - a - charging to kill kill kill.
Instead, grandaughter films herself stabbing granma and granboy does his Joaquin Phoenix (signs) version of "just swing away". Thankfully, granboy loses those "failure demons" he experienced on his football team, along with sis, who can now look at herself in the mirror.
Shoulda been a horror film, not a what it was.
