I am a Shyamalan fan; have been since 2002. I say that because I don't pretend to be objective when it comes to his movies. I am positively biased. I never lost faith in his ability as a director; I like most of the movies he did that were not received well.
I knew eventually he would figure out how to connect with large audiences again. The fact that he is so controversial is evidence that he does something very unique and special on the screen. Now that he has really stretched himself in other genres (fantasy and sci-fi), he can get back to what he does best.
