Review of The Visit (2015) by Spencer K — 08 Mar 2016
The Visit pleasantly surprised me. this was a very creepy, tense, and often laugh out loud hilarious film that benefits from great performances from everyone involved especially the little boy and Nana who scared the hell out of me.
there was some truly effective scares here while also mixing in some great comedic moments. I was also surprised my the emotional and dramatic heft it brought, too. there was a lingering sense of fear and dread throughout the entire movie and the twist was actually really well done.
this is a welcome return to form for M. Night Shayamalan. a very creepy, effective horror film. definitely well worth a visit to the theater.
