Review of The Virgin Suicides (2000) by Joel A — 21 Oct 2010
A very impressive film debut indeed, yes no doubt Sofia had a little support from daddy but she clearly has a director's eye and gift for story telling.
The casting down to the overall style, no doubt her talent as a filmmaker is so apparent. The story itself is rather hypnotic a sort of trance like film it sort of sucks you in.
It touches on many themes that are so true and universal, parents can really affect there child's life in horrible ways. One of Kirsten Dunst's key performances she was terrific.
