Review of The Virgin Spring (1960) by Matthew L — 18 Feb 2008
Somber film, based on a 13th century ballad, about a group of bandits who rape and murder a young virgin, only to find themselves guests in the house of her family on a cold winder night. Not as deep and rich as many other Bergman films, but still exceedingly well made and beautifully photographed.
