Review of The Virgin Spring (1960) by Beth S — 27 Jul 2010
The story of a horrible and profound prelude to a miracle. I refuse to review Bergman. His existential medievalism is at once deeply disturbing and hauntingly beautiful. Every character--every character's every movement, in fact--carries its symbolic weight.
And gracefully. What a genius.
