Review of The Virgin Spring (1960) by Victoria V — 09 Mar 2011
Another one of Ingmar Bergman's wonderfull black and white pictures. THis must be one of his most darkest , most dreadful and most horrifying creations.
The Virgin Spring is set in the midieval where a prosperous christian virgin is headed for the church one sunday. Her pregnant foster sister, who is a basterd child, does not follow her as planned and it leads to big consequences without proportion, and beyond all evil.
This is one among the most gruesome and filthy out of Bergman's fine colletion. Absolutely worth to check out.
