Review of The Valley of Gwangi (1969) by Ame A — 27 Apr 2009
The dialogue/acting may be a little clunky, but for an effects-driven film, 'Gwangi' does admirably. [As one has to take into account that many times the actors were reacting to things that weren't there, and the difficulty of taking 'cowboys and dinosaurs' seriously.
] The model animation is top-notch, and what truly makes this a memorable film. One of the best examples of both Harryhausen and the 'Weird West' genre.
