Review of The Valley of Gwangi (1969) by Blais E — 22 Nov 2010
Effects Master Ray Harryhausen's superlative Dino-Rodeo, an interesting mix of Westerns with "Monster-on-the-Loose" flicks. While certainly not an original idea, it is by-far the best & most well-executed of the type, with spectacular stop-motion animation & exciting & involving set-pieces.
The acting by the international cast is uneven, although Franciscus is good & top-notch British character actor Laurence Naismith really owns the film as the slippery Professor Bromley. Oddly, the film was originally released on a double-bill with a porn film!
