Review of The U.S. vs. John Lennon (2006) by Steven L — 14 Aug 2007
A good movie for the uninitiated, but sort of lifeless for those who already know the story. The film is less about John Lennon's battles with the government, and steers more toward the hero worship that many documentaries about a very complicated man tend to do.
Nothing new was covered here; Imagine: John Lennon, made close to 20 years ago told the same story. I have yet to see a really good documentary about John Lennon, one that truly explores what made the man, rather than what the man meant to us.
