Review of The U.S. vs. John Lennon (2006) by Sarah M — 01 Mar 2008
I was expecting more emphasis on the FBI and their file on Lennon, but the information leading up to that point did provide context. Obviously very pro-Yoko, and I did enjoy seeing footage of their relationship and their causes, as I was an oblivious drooling toddler in the early 70s.
he was an idealist, he was used by more savvy activists. also interesting to me was he is protrayed as an involved father who did not want to repeat HIS father's mistakes...and yet he did just that with his first son, Julian - who is not mentioned at all.
I really did enjoy his efforts to use his celebrity to draw attention to important issues - something latter day celebs have since emulated.
