Review of The U.S. vs. John Lennon (2006) by Josh H — 30 Apr 2008
A great example of why I love documentaries. It examines all the events surrounding John Lennon's revolution in the late 60s trying to help this country find peace at a time when we were involved in an injust war, and includes so much information that I didn't know and really blew me away.
I mean, much of it I knew general information about -- like how the government considered him a threat, but this documentary (among MANY other things) shows to what degree that John Lennon was considered a threat and all the things they tried to do to shut him down, including (among many other things) trying to deport him.
A really wonderful documentary about a very important time in our history, and it's interesting to see how government corruption during wartime is not a new concept, and administrations bending and breaking the law and abusing their power hasn't gone out of style either.
