If at times "The Upside of Anger" plays like extended sitcom, then it's a genial, well-written sitcom, of the sort one might take some pleasure in watching on a Friday night. By way of extra commendation, it can also boast five radiant female performances, and there aren't all that many American movies one can say that about these days.
