Review of The Upside of Anger (2005) by John E — 20 Dec 2009
There isn't much upside to this movie. Kevin Costner and Joan Allen play polar opposites by definition of this genre. Their unlikely midlife romance occurs in the wake of Allen's recent separation from her unfaithful husband.
Their relationship predictably transforms from dislike into love as is custom in countless movies of this kind. This muddled film is filled with dead end plot elements, dull characters, jokes that fall completely flat and non-existent chemistry between the two leads.
The Upside of Anger is more than just a bad title for a movie. Its a bad movie.
