Review of The Unbearable Lightness of Being (1988) by Le S — 22 Mar 2009
Superb film; would prefer the synopsis were written differently as "lady killer" is a shallow descriptive of the doctors character - may even lend an impression of a horror film. Matter of perception. 'Animal House' qualifies as â??sexualâ?? overtone, not this masterpiece.
The characters are full of riches we all strive forâ?¦ vitality, childlike (not childish) exploration of sexuality, passion, humor, warmth/love, connectivity. In spite of human error they reach deeper within themselves for one another. Stirred my mind. Made me laugh, weep, arousedâ?¦ Provoking. Highly recommend the film, will read the book to imagine my own visuals (remember: Words are pictures too).
