Growing up in the cold war made me curious about eastern Europe. I loved Kundera's book and was amazed anyone could film it. I fell in love with this film immediately. Very few films make me so sympathetic to their characters.
The music by Leos Janacek was so powerful and fiiled with emotion. All round a beautiful tragic love story.
