Review of The Unbearable Lightness of Being (1988) by Teresa O — 11 Oct 2015
Based on one of the most beautiful novels of the 20th century, this movie does it justice. Amazing performances by Daniel Day-Lewis and Juliette Binoche. Cinematography gorgeous. The poetry of this film is devastatingly moving -- but read Milan Kundera's novel which is even better.
Kundera is a poet who can move you to tears just by touching the ordinary life of thinking humans. Just love 'The Unbearable Lightness of Being' -- thinking of the title itself is painfully beautiful.
