Review of The Umbrellas of Cherbourg (1964) by Stella K — 06 May 2004
I believe allforeign movies are superior to American films, but this one was not just a movie. This film was a feast for the eyes, ears, mind, and heart. The movie was a beautiful sight, the colors were gorgeous and the settings were just great.
The songs are still ringing in my ears, its amazing they were able to not speak one word of diologue, but sang the whole thing. The story too was interesting, a heartrenching tale of love lost and found.
