Review of The Umbrellas of Cherbourg (1964) by Mikki C — 11 Apr 2009
It might take a while to get accustomed to the novelty of even commonplace dialogue being put to song, but it's worth it. Great cinematography (you sort of want to eat the walls -- it's a visual confection!), and Catherine Deneuve is absolutely stunning.
It's been two years since I last saw this but ending theme song (and all that it implies) still continues to haunt me today.
