Review of The Tree of Life (2011) by Shawna R — 11 Oct 2013

This film would have been excellent as a short film. One reviewer refers to it as a poem... I feel this is a fair comparison as it is more this than a story. I certainly have the patience for a range of artistic expressions, but could not help but notice that the free form delivery of this film also was contradicted by having it adhere to the standards and length of a movie.

This was unfortunate. I found myself feeling the movie was losing its touch with moments repeated that had no purpose other than to fill in time.
