Review of The Train (1964) by Terri H — 02 Oct 2008
Great acting by Burt Lancaster, who again does his own stunts.
John Frankenheimer does an amazing job in directing this film. The scenes are just amazing; wide angle shots, long continuous shots, amazing crane operated shots, actual train wrecks, blowing up of a real rail road yard (using 5000 lb of dynamite and 22 cameras)! I can only imagine the detailed story boarding, planning and logistics that went into shooting the complicated scenes.
A Frankenheimer classic.
