Review of The Tracey Fragments (2007) by Alex V — 12 Dec 2008
Oh my God, I just waded through about 80 minutes of the most pretentious and distracting filmmaking in existence. I feel as though the only purpose the "innovative" methods employed were to disguise how dull and uninteresting the story actually was, and how there really wasn't much substance to it in the first place.
Shame: one can tell Ellen Page is trying her best with the material given, and she delivers quite a few shining moments of raw, believable emotion. But that doesn't even come close to saving this shit-house of a movie.
