Review of The Tracey Fragments (2007) by Matthew B — 09 Jul 2009
This movie was captivating, innovative, and unbelievably well done. Finally Ellen Page breaks away from the smart-ass teen and delves into something with a bit more meat on the bone, and she does so perfectly.
I wouldn't be surprised if we see her with another Oscar nod come fall. With a gripping narrative told through "fragments" of a disturbed conciousness, we are left piecing together the truth.
At first, I was bothered by the lack of a conclusive ending...but the more I think about that, the more I think about what was next for the troubled Tracey Berkowitz. And when a movie leaves you thinking about if afterwards, the people involved really did their jobs right.
