A very watchable now classic sci-fi film done very tastefully. The special effects may seem dated for younger viewers but... another fondly remembered childhood film for me. Paradoxically embodies the ideals of the Age of Reason and yet ignores certain known facts concerning what would be the natural development of civilization.
