Review of The Time Machine (1960) by Daniel T — 22 Apr 2014
Great adaptation of HG Wells' classic novel. Very entertaining. Also has some interesting comments on mankind, and its potential directions. Also makes you think about history, and our place in it.
Decent plot, though sometimes substance makes way for style. Gets a bit too much like an action movie, rather than a clever adventure-drama, towards the end, but the action scenes are fine, and overall contribute a fair bit to the conclusion.
Great performance by Rod Taylor in the lead role. Thoughtful, clever scientist at times, swashbuckling hero at others. Yvette Mimieux is there as eye candy, and she performs that role very admirably.
Classic sci fi entertainment.
