Review of The Three Musketeers (2011) by Arjun I — 08 May 2013
All For One, and One For All.....the motto of the Three Musketeers, made famous by Alexander Dumas in his timeless classic. Over the years, many movies have been brought to the big screen involving the exploits of the Three Musketeers, however, this one, is perhaps the best of the lot.
..simply because....its beautiful to look at. You have the Athos, Prothos and Aramis, each with their unique characteristics, you have D'artagnian, the young upstart and gifted swordsman with a dream, and you also have Planchet, the ever loyal servant, combine all this with a little bit of Romance, some Drama, and the prospect of starting a European conflict.
...and you have it. The actors have all done their part brilliantly, all except for Mads Mikkelsen, who was just....well....Himself with a eyepatch. The special effects are jaw dropping and the sword battles are well choreographed although I would have loved to the see a bit more of them.
A great watch, and fun for the whole family.
