Do they remake Dumas' tale every generation? There's probably a college course waiting to happen that examines Western civilization through the type of Musketeers' story it entertains, yes? This one .
.. well, the visuals are eyepopping, no doubt, the French court never looking as good. And CGI is used abundantly and at every opportunity (even when it's inopportune), but the characters are given the once over only once - and no more - so there's little to care about.
Only Milla Jovovich escapes apathy.
